Why can’t I see my distance on my Moov Run & Walk workouts?

Moov uses the GPS in your mobile device to record distance. If your distance is not being recorded it is likely either because GPS is not enabled or you are running on a treadmill.


1. GPS is not enabled

In order to record distance, you must use Moov with a GPS equipped device and GPS/Location Services must be enabled. iPods do not come equipped with GPS capabilities. You will be asked to allow Location Services the first time you use the app. If you do not choose “Allow”, then you will need to access your mobile device settings to enable Location Services.


How to enable Location Services on iOS:

Go to your mobile device’s Settings app → Privacy → Location Services → Moov → Choose Always


How to enable Location Services on Android:

Go to your mobile device’s Settings app → Location → Toggle the switch to “On”

For Android 6.0 or newer, you will need to give permission to the Moov app specifically


2. Treadmill

If you are running on a treadmill, Moov will not be able to track distance because your GPS location is staying constant.
However, once you finish your run, Moov will recognize that you were on a treadmill and a pop-up will ask you to enter your distance from the treadmill.
